The Jinhae Gunhangje Cherry Blossom Festival is one of Korea’s biggest and easily most popular cherry blossom festivals. It is held from late March to early April, and thanks to Jinhae’s southern location, it is also one of the first domestic cities to see cherry blossoms bloom each year.
However, as a smaller city in Korea, Jinhae can be a bit tricky to get to from Seoul or Busan. In this blog, we’ll break down the best ways to get to and from the festival, so you can skip the headache & focus on enjoying your spring in Korea!
1. How to Get to Jinhae from Seoul
1) KTX
The Korea Train Express (KTX) is South Korea’s high-speed rail service that connects major cities & locations across the country. While often the fastest way to travel, second only to air travel, the KTX is not the cheapest option. Although there is no demand or surge pricing, popular times & routes can sell out well in advance.
Estimated Travel Time to Jinhae: ~3hrs
Unfortunately, there is no direct KTX route to Jinhae, as the city does not have an express station. However, you can get fairly close by traveling to Changwon Central Station or Busan, before transferring to a local intercity bus or taking a short taxi ride to reach Jinhae.

2) Express Bus
Express buses, known as “gosok” (고속) in Korean, offer direct routes between major metropolitan areas, traveling on expressways for faster journey times. Express bus routes are generally cheaper than train or air travel for equivalent routes but can take longer depending on traffic conditions.
Estimated Travel Time to Jinhae: ~4.5hrs
Unlike the train, there are a handful of direct buses to Jinhae. Departing from Seoul’s Express Bus Terminal, there are typically 11 bus times throughout the day headed to Jinahe Intercity Bus Terminal.
3) Private Van
For the most comfortable, secure, and flexible way to reach the Jinhae Cherry Blossom Festival, book a private van tour. This option allows you to enjoy the festival at your own pace with convenient pick-up and drop-off times – Making it perfect for families, friend groups, or anyone looking for a smooth, personalized travel experience.
Estimated Travel Time to Jinhae: ~5hrs
Choose your van size, accommodating up to 4 or 7 passengers, and convenient pick up at your accommodation in Seoul.
