1. Daegu Chimaek Festival

Korea’s crispiest summer tradition, the Daegu Chimaek Festival, is back for five nights, with artists like 10CM, Wonstein, N. Flying, FTISLAND, and more taking the stage across the week. Beyond the concerts, the festival brings back its beloved Water EDM Party, a live busking stage, and an outdoor club zone, so there’s always something going on, no matter when you show up. Oh, and the chicken and beer? There are dozens of vendors on-site, and no reservation is needed to get in; just show up early if you want a good spot.

Forget your regular summer playlist because Caribbean Bay’s Water Music Pool Party takes the whole concert experience and drops it right into a wave pool. Every day from July 3rd, a live DJ sets up at the outdoor wave pool special stage and runs a two-hour set of K-pop, EDM, and hip-hop while water cannons and special effects go off all around you.
The whole thing is part of the park’s bigger “Hello Summer Party” festival, which also features Sanrio character photo zones, a themed food town, and limited-edition goods throughout the park for extra-cute points.

3. Haman Nakhwa Nori Festival

If you’ve ever wanted to watch flowers made of fire fall from the sky, the Haman Nakhwa Nori Festival is one of those experiences that’ll stop you in your tracks. Dating back to the 16th century, this traditional folk festival involves thousands of handmade charcoal and hanji paper bundles called “nakhwabong” being lit and strung above a pond, sending glowing red embers drifting down like petals of fire onto the water below. The main lighting ceremony kicks off at night, but traditional performances and cultural activities fill the grounds from early afternoon, making it a full-day experience.

4. Buyeo Seodong Lotus Festival

This summer, Gungnamji’s massive lotus garden is the perfect spot for romance, thanks to 10 million lotus flowers and the legendary tale of Seodong and Princess Seonhwa. Their love story, famous for crossing borders, comes alive every year among the garden’s iconic petals. 5. N Seoul Tower Night Walk

If your idea of a good Saturday night involves walking through Namsan with an LED armband strapped to your wrist and K-pop blasting at the finish line, the N Seoul Tower Global Night Walk is calling your name. This 6 km evening walk kicks off at Namsan Baekbeom Square and winds through some of Seoul’s most scenic routes. 6. Yangpyeong Watermelon Festival

The Yangpyeong Watermelon Festival celebrates one of Korea’s most prized summer crops, with watermelon carving contests, a family watermelon sculpting competition, and a watermelon song contest where anyone can get up on stage. Kids get a splash zone to run through, face painting, and workshops to make their own watermelon hats, while adults can browse local produce stalls and grab freshly made watermelon juice and hwachae on the spot. The whole thing is free to enter, easy to get to from Seoul for a day trip, and a summer festival that’ll end up being the most fun you’ve had all weekend!
7. Sono Runtrip 180k in Vivaldi Park

If you’ve ever been curious about why Koreans treat ginseng like liquid gold, the Geumsan World Insam Festival is where that story makes total sense. Here you can dig it from the ground, soak your feet in a warm red ginseng foot bath, and get a full red ginseng face mask treatment all in one visit. Food-wise, ginseng shows up in everything from makgeolli and fries to fusion K-food dishes you would never expect, and the International Insam Trade Fair runs alongside the festival if you want to stock up on the real stuff at a good price. 9. Taebaek Sunflower Festival

Wander through endless fields of golden sunflowers, enjoy art exhibitions, and try hands-on eco-experiences in the cool mountain air of Taebaek at the Taebaek Sunflower Festival. The entire 660,000 sqm highland field turns into a sea of yellow, with over 300 species of wildflowers blooming alongside the sunflowers, making it one of the most naturally beautiful festival grounds in Korea. There are also outdoor sculpture exhibitions, a charity concert, animal feeding experiences, and local food stalls selling sunflower tea, gamja-jeon, and fresh corn. It’s perfect for sunflower fans & those looking for a gorgeous escape from the bustling city!

This year, the Water Bomb Festival returns with even more powerful water explosions and an awesome lineup. 11. Ulsan Shipbuilding & Sea Festival

If you’ve never watched someone race a handmade boat built from recycled materials out on the open sea, the Ulsan Shipbuilding & Sea Festival at Ilsan Beach is about to change that. This three-day festival celebrates both shipbuilding culture and summer beach fun in the same place, with guided tours inside the HD Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard, kayaking and flyboard shows, scenic boat cruises, and a marine fireworks show to close it all out. Nights get lively with an EDM beach party and live performances right by the water, so it’s bound to be exciting!
12. Boryeong Mud Festival

For international travelers, there’s nothing quite like the Boryeong Mud Festival. Now in its 29th year, this 17-day festival draws visitors from all over the world for mud slides, mud wrestling, mud obstacle courses, color mud throwing zones, and even a mud spa and beauty healing center if you want the skin benefits. After dark, the beach transforms into an open-air concert venue with a World DJ Festival, K-Hip Hop Festival, Mnet M Countdown stage performances, and fireworks.

14. Bonghwa Euneo (Sweetfish) Festival

The Bonghwa Sweetfish Festival is an annual celebration held in Bonghwa, a county in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. It honors the region’s sweetfish, which is a local delicacy prized for its clean-water habitat and watermelon-like aroma. The star of the show is the bare-hand catching contest, where you and a team wade into the river to try and catch the fish with any gear. Afterwards, you can grill your fish right on the riverbank, try sweetfish dishes at food stalls, and stay for evening waterside concerts!
How to Go: Join a round-trip shuttle from Hongdae or Myeongdong visit the famous Baekdugean National Arboretum, and catch your own sweetfish in Bonghwa!
15. Jangheung Water Festival

The Jangheung Water Festival is a nine-day summer festival held along the Tamjin River and the nearby cypress forest in Jangheung, Jeollanam-do. In the evenings, you can enjoy concerts, including rock and EDM stages, cultural performances, and various family-friendly events along the riverside. 16. 2026 K-Summer Camp in Seoul

The K-Summer Camp in Seoul is a 1- or 2-week all-inclusive program for international students aged 16–30, where you’ll be based at the Seoul National University of Science and Technology dorms. It combines beginner-friendly Korean language and K-content classes (K-pop dance, acting, K-drama, and daily-life expressions) with cultural field trips like hanbok and palace visits, taekwondo, cooking and kimchi-making classes, and theme park and Seongsu outings. The Hangang & Nakdong River Source Festival celebrates the headwaters of Korea’s two major rivers, the Hangang and Nakdonggang. Centered around Hwangji Pond and Taebaek Cultural Square, the festival features programs that highlight water, ecology, and local culture, including the Water Walking Parade, river-themed performances, and family-friendly water play zones. There are also night programs like “Water Day & Night” events, fireworks, and traditional falling-fire (nakhwa nori) displays over the pond, along with outdoor film screenings linked to the Taebaek Cool Cinema Festival.
