Usually, Phuket International Airport is the place where travelers start their journey in Phuket. There are several Phuket Airport transfer options you can choose from. And each has its own pros and cons.
Read this guide on each Phuket airport transfer option to get to your destination.

| Pros:
• 24-hour Phuket Airport transfer

2. By Bus
The airport bus is the cheapest option to go to your destination from the airport. While the cheap cost is the biggest advantage of this option, there are some disadvantages you should know about.
| Operation Hours: From 07:30 AM to 9:30 PM every 60 mins (Phuket Town bound)
| Fares: 50-170 baht depending on the distance you travel
| Pros:
• Links Phuket airport and Phuket town
• Cheap bus fare
| Cons:
• No direct route to Kata/ Karon/ Patong beach resorts area
• Comes every 60 mins
• Frequently delayed
3. By Taxi
There are limousine taxis and meter taxis at the airport. Meter taxis are normally cheaper than limousine taxis as long as they turn on the meter. Unfortunately, there are not enough meter taxis in Phuket. The drivers will try to set the flat fare beforehand. You must haggle as the drivers will always quote a price much higher than they should accept.
| Pros:
• Available at the airport anytime
• Comfortable than a bus
• Drop-off at your exact destination
| Cons:
• Expensive taxi fare
• Extra airport surcharge of 100 baht
• Risk of getting overcharged
Private Phuket Transfer to Phuket Town/ Patong Beach/ Piers
Phuket is a large island and you need some forms of transportation to get around. Unfortunately, public transport is very limited. Another option is renting your own vehicle. But driving in Phuket can be very dangerous due to the landform of the island with its winding, hilly roads, and poor visibility.
Here’s a list of transport options you can consider to get around Phuket.
1. By Private Phuket Transfer
As there are very few transportation options to get around Phuket, booking a private taxi can be your best choice.
Especially if you are traveling between the west coast beach and Phuket town or Chalong Pier, tuk tuk and taxi will try to charge you extra money for the long distances trip.
| Pros:
• 24-hour transfer service
• Comfortable for travelers with children, seniors, or a lot of luggage
• A variety of car options based on your needs
• Meet & Greet service
| Cons:
• Booking required in advance

2. By Songthaew (local bus)
Most of the local buses are in the style known as Songthaew. That is basically a truck with two benches. Fares range is from 10 to 30 baht.
There are no designated bus stops, which means they pick up and drop off as requested. In most areas, your best chance of catching this bus is to go to the main part of the town – sooner or later one will come along.
| Pros:
• Cheap bus fare
• Local culture experience
| Cons:
• Uncomfortable ride
• No designated bus stops
• No service after 6 PM
3. By Tuk tuk
Tuk tuks can be found all over Phuket. Tuk tuks are basically small red vans, which have open sides, and can carry about five passengers. They are 4-wheeled as opposed to the 3-wheeled version found in Bangkok.
Tuk tuk drivers sometimes take their passengers on unscheduled tours of souvenir shops or other places where they will get a commission. If you don’t want to go, kindly advise the driver not to go.
| Pros:
• Easy to find especially near the busy resorts area
• Good for short distances, for example, between the beaches
• Local culture experience
| Cons:
• Risk of getting overcharged
• Uncomfortable for a long ride due to its small size
4. By Taxi
Meter taxi is a better option than tuk tuk. It is safer, more comfortable, and usually cheaper.
However, they are often hard to find, and during peak periods the drivers will also ignore the meter and demand flat fares. Like tuk tuks, you must negotiate the fare beforehand if it is not a meter taxi.
| Pros:
• Safe and comfortable
• Usually cheaper than tuk tuks
| Cons:
• Hard to find legitimate taxis
