Explore Nami Island and Petite France all in one day with Trazy’s tour!

Famous for beautiful scenery and plenty of photo-ops, Nami Island and Petite France are some of the most popular travel destinations near Seoul. Both of them are located within a two-hour drive from Seoul, making them perfect destinations for a day trip.

However, getting to Nami Island and Petite France from Seoul is often a topic of concern. It’s true that getting to these places, plus visiting both in one day, can be very difficult without a car, which is why taking a tour can be a great option.

If you’ve always wanted to visit these places, be sure to check out the following travel review written by one of Trazy Crew members who joined our one-day tour to Nami Island and Petite France. Go ahead, read on to find out what it’s like to explore Nami Island and Petite France through Trazy’s tour!

From Seoul to Petite France

To visit two of my favorite destinations in Korea, Nami Island and Petite France, I joined this one-day tour from Trazy.com. There are 3 different options for departure: Hongik University Station, Myeongdong Station and Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station. It took me about 90 mins from Seoul to Petite France with the shuttle bus.

On the way to the main gate of Petite France, you will find a map of the entire village.

You can get a map in Korean, English, Chinese and Taiwanese here at the ticket booth. I recommend you take the printed map. It will help you look around the village more efficiently.

Like its name, Petite France is a small French-themed village. You can find the small Tower Eiffel and lots of French style houses (you can also book one of the houses on the website of Petite France to stay overnight).

And there is a nice view of the Cheongpyeong Lake when you reach the right side of the village where the restaurants and cafes are located.

The main theme of Petite France comes from the famous French novel “The Little Prince” by Antoine de Saint Exupery, which is why you can see many things related to the little prince. There is even a memorial hall dedicated to the prince character.

And if you like Korean dramas, then it will be very interesting to look around here. Lots of famous K-dramas were filmed here: Beethoven Virus, Secret Garden, and My Love from the Star. You can also find some autographs and actual props used in these dramas.

There is also a photo zone where you can take pictures becoming Kim Soo-hyun and Jeon Ji-hyun.

There are a lot of nice photo zones and spots where you can take memorable pictures even if you are not that interested in K-drama.

There are a variety of places to visit inside the village including their own exclusive theater for marionette, cafes, restaurants, and outdoor places to have a cup of coffee, eat and take a rest.

In Petite France, there are shops where you can buy pretty French-style dishes and plates, but if you think they are too heavy to take home, I recommend you to get some souvenirs like postcards and orgel at the gift shops in Petite France – they are lightweight and very charming!

From Petite France to Nami Island

After spending some time at Petite France, our tour group headed to Nami Island, which took about 20 minutes. When we arrived at Gapyeong Wharf, the staff gave me the ticket for the ferry.

Around the wharf, there are many ‘Dakgalbi (Chicken Barbecue which is famous in Chuncheon)’ restaurants. In Nami Island, there are many restaurants and cafes but it’s a bit more pricey. All of us took the ferry to Nami Island which takes about 5 minutes. But you can also go to Nami Island by riding the zip-wire.

When you get off the ferry, you can find a supermarket near the gate where you can buy snacks and drinks. If you walk a bit more, head to the Unicef Child-friendly Park. This is where you can watch live performances. There are rest areas nearby so I took a seat and enjoyed the music. There are also many leisure activities like riding a bike. You can also take a small train where you can easily look around Nami Island.

And pets are allowed in Nami Island so you can see and bring pets also.

Nami Island first became popular because of the famous Korean drama, “Winter Sonata (겨울연가, 2002)”. You can see the bench where Bae Yong-Joon and Choi Ji-Woo played with a snowman.

And nearby the Winter Sonata filming spot, there is a field where you can meet the famous ostrich named ‘Ggangta’.

One of the best tree-lined paths in Nami Island is the Metasequoia Road, where you can take incredible photos! Also, there are many small and big museums where you can take a look around.

Overall, I think this is a great tour for those who want to get close to nature and see the best attractions not too far from Seoul. Plus, this tour package is extremely convenient. I didn’t have to figure out finding my way and buying the tickets at every point! It absolutely took away the hassle out of my trip.

If Nami Island and Petite France are on your list, I definitely recommend you take this tour! 😉

At Nami Island, it is recommended you to bring the strollers. You can also rent a stroller at the entrance if your child’s age is 24 months or under. At Petite France, on the other hand, please note that you may have to go up the stairs in order to go to a photo spot with a nice view.
If you are planning to bring your stroller along the tour, please make sure to let us know in advance so that the local operator can be aware of it.
