If you’re interested in architecture, this is the place for you. Constructed back in 1927, Kaikado Cafe is housed in a remodeled city-tram warehouse and administration office. The interior is minimalistic and airy with large windows and plants filling the space. The menu is quaint, with a focus on quality over quantity. Make sure you try the Kaikado Drip Coffee as it’s a specialty. The cafe is led by Kaikado, a 140-year-old family-run company known for its airtight tin “chazutsu” tea caddies. You can stop by the shop on the second floor to buy one.

Established in 1948, this nostalgic cafe is housed in a retro, western-styled building and serves delicious breakfasts like French toast, omelets, and granola bowls. Make sure you get the French Toast as it has amazing reviews, filled with ham and ricotta and grilled pineapples. The ice cubes in the coffee are also made of coffee instead of water which waters down the taste of your coffee!

Sagano-Yu is a cafe that is located in an old public bathhouse, now renovated into a cozy and homely cafe with a clean white wash feel. With both indoor and outdoor seating, this is the perfect place to enjoy brunch and coffee. Make sure you try the pancakes, especially the pumpkin pancake which is seasonal, which even comes with pumpkin ice cream! There’s also a small shop where you can buy things like tea, soap, and cookies.
