ABLE Hakuba GORYU and Hakuba47 Winter Sports Park are two interconnected ski resorts in the Hakuba Valley, that hosted the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics. The ABLE Hakuba GORYU resort consists of three main areas (Alps-daira, Tohmi, & Iimori) and features a wide-range of courses. Hakuba GORYU’s three main slope areas help to divide the resort’s numerous courses into skill-level sections. From easiest to hardest they are; Toomi, Imori, & Alps-daria. However, as the Alps-daira runs connect through to the easier routes of the Toomi section of the mountain, these two areas are often combined.

Alps-daria

The Alps-daira area is found at the very top of the resort’s mountain and offers fantastic panoramic views of Japan’s Northern Alps. Apls-daira hosts some of Hauka GORYU’s most challenging courses mainly for advanced and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. This includes:

GORYU’s largest slope, the Grand Prix is the perfect slope for intermediate powder enthusiasts!

With absolutely no grooming, this course provides an excellent challenge for more advanced skiers and snowboarders.

Toomi

Connected to the Alps-daira area through the Grand Prix course, the Toomi area is the perfect spot for learning or warming up for the bigger courses. Toomi courses are also one of the only areas available for sunrise & night skiing at GORYU.

3. Hakuba 47 Winter Sports Park

Ideal for all levels looking to visit a world-class historic ski resort with engaging activities and events.

Connected through the Alps-daira area, Hauka 47 is well known as a host of the 1998 Olympic Winter Games in Japan. Their facilities have been well-maintained and updated over the years, and they are easily one of the best terrain parks in Japan with a large half-pipe, 10 (up to 20 meter) kickers, various jib rails, boxes, and berms. Offering various seasonal events and activities through all 4 seasons & 7 days a week, Hakuba 47 lives up to its namesake.
