As the fourth wave of the new COVID-19 is growing stronger in the capital region of Korea, the South Korean government has decided to impose the toughest social distancing measure of Level 4 in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do Province, and Incheon. The level 4 distancing scheme has been extended until August 8th, 2021. Non-capital regions are currently under Level 3, except Yangyang and Daejeon, which are under Level 4. - Private gatherings of more than two people are banned from 6pm to 5am. Only up to four people can gather from 5am to 6pm.
- Cohabiting family members, as well as young children and elderly people, who need live-in caretakers, are exempted from the 2-4 gathering rules.
- Restaurants, cafes, and bakeries are allowed to have dine-in customers until 10pm.
- All entertainment establishments, including nightclubs, pubs, bars, and dance halls, must be shut down.
- Weddings and funerals can only be joined by up to 49 people.
- Only one-person protests are allowed for demonstrations.
- The speed of treadmills at gyms must be kept at 6 kph or below and shower rooms must be closed.
- Leisure activities, such as mountain climbing and golf, are only allowed up to 4 people in a group until 6pm.
- PC rooms, study rooms, tutoring academics, and indoor sports facilities are allowed to operate until 10pm.
- All in-person religious gatherings are banned and schools should switch to online classes.
