The Seoul Outdoor Library is a set of outdoor library spaces with locations in Seoul Plaza, Gwanghwamun Square, Cheonggyecheon Stream, and Yeouido Hangang Park, where people can freely read books and engage in cultural activities outside of a traditional library setting. They have two distinct phases of operation: the first lasts from late April to June, and the second runs from September to early November. Each area is equipped with an array of comfy spots to read, including lawn chairs, beanbags, and shaded tents. And, with more than 12,000 books, of which about 10% are in English, there’s a little something for everyone at this library.

The Car-Free Jamsugyeo Bridge Festival is a major event held at Hangang Park, taking place every Sunday across the park and the full stretch of the Jamsugyo Bridge. Attracting millions of visitors each year, this year’s festival is set to deliver fresh fun along the water again. There is a healing zone to offer a moment of relaxation for visitors to gaze out at the shimmering waves of the river with four themed spaces, each of which offers a unique experience:
- Picnic Zone with tents
- Sunset Zone with bean bag chairs
- Water Light Zone with transparent domes
- Silent Disco with wireless headphones provided to help you space out
There are also food trucks with diverse menus, moonlit bar tables facing the river to dine in peace, a silent disco, photo zones, music performances, and play areas for children, such as a bouncy castle.

Located in the Yeouido Park Grassy Field, SEOLDAL is a 22-meter-diameter, moon-shaped tethered helium balloon that takes visitors 150 meters above ground, providing a truly engaging airborne experience. You’ll be able to get panoramic day and night views of Seoul’s skyline, the Han River, and surrounding landmarks that rival other observation decks. Each ride accommodates up to 30 passengers and lasts approximately 15 minutes, with around 10 minutes at the top for sightseeing and photography.

The Banpo Bridge Rainbow Fountain Show, officially known as the Moonlight Rainbow Fountain, is one of Seoul’s most iconic and visually stunning outdoor spectacles. Spanning the Han River, it is recognized as the world’s longest bridge fountain, stretching 1,140 meters along both sides of the Banpo Bridge and featuring thousands of LED lights and pumps that shoot water 20 meters into the air in synchronized, rainbow-colored arcs that dance to music, especially after sunset. It’s a great spot for photography, romantic walks, and family outings.
